The front page
The thinking was that this was going to be the front page, giving a very detailed view into matchup predictions and allowing for a deep dive on a single fixture: both sides scored, every sub-metric shown, each counter-matchup pairing openable to name the players behind it.
More than one way in
A page whose general view gives comprehensive perspectives on upcoming matchups has high potential, so it carries multiple ways to get a good idea of the future of the season rather than one.
Terms used here
- CompositeScore
- The single number every fixture is reduced to. Five weighted sub-metrics are scored separately and combined into it, and it is what drives the colour band shown anywhere in the app.Explained in Calculations
- Counter-matchup
- The heaviest calculation. Rather than asking how strong a team is, it asks where each side is strongest and weakest, and whether those shapes counter each other. Matures over 10 fixtures to a maximum 0.25 weight.Explained in Calculations
